I’m proud to say that if you live in the pacific northwest, you have the opportunity to own a ModYourMac original! My shop, MacForce is now offering the option to have plastic housed machines painted. The options are for solid or two color jobs. No flames or complex stuff yet, but we’ll get there. So, get into MacForce, and either buy a machine, or bring yours in, and get it custom painted!

I just bought a 10.5″ x 100ft roll of masking paper (masking tape). Its huge. But, masking things like imacs should be an easy task now. yay!

And soon, the paint will flow!

I pleased to say that this weekend, an 8 foot square spray booth was built in the basement of my shop. Its all plastic and 2×4′s, but its more than enough. It’ll do everything I need. I’ve also ordered a ton of paint. Soon, I shall produce some test pieces for my employer, and the design side of my company. I cannot wait to paint.
Now, dont take this as MYM going corporate or anything. This is an alliance with my employer, so that I can have a space to work, and they can benefit from my painting. Mutual back scratching, if you will. I can already say that I’m pleased to have my own dedicated painting space. I can only hope they’re pleased with what I produce for them.
and, just so its said, WOO-HOO! I get to paint this week!
As soon as I start generating stuff thats for MYM and MacMod consumption, it’ll be posted here. Keep an eye out!

Some companies just rule.

With the impending start to my painting insanity for the holiday season, I purchased a new airbrush. I picked up an Iwata Eclipse HP-BS series. As the derringer sized sniper rifle of my arsenal, it ought to do well. But I know what to expect with my airbrush. What I didnt expect was how awesome the manufacturer is.
I ordered online through a third party retailer. Apparently they send their order in to the manufacturer and then the product is drop-shipped. Well, Medea-Artool, the manufacturer, called me this morning. They wanted to know if I wanted to pick up my airbrush will-call.
Huh, what? I ordered it from a shop in St. Louis.
No, as providence would have it, Medea-Artool/Iwata is ONE BLOCK from my shop. Their office is literally a 2 minute walk from mine. They called when they realized that it would be dumb to ship my purchase, when I could just run over. So, I ran over. Literally.
While there, I chatted with the girl at the front (I’m sorry, I dont remember your name!) and another guy there who’s their tech person. They told me who to talk to at my local art store, in order to set up will call pickups, so I wouldnt have to pay shipping, and could get everything they sell. They also checked out the website. Most cool. They were super awesome people, and amazingly nice to let me run over and get my airbrush.
Thank you Iwata/Medea-Artool! you folks RULE! you will continue to get my business, without question. I was a loyal customer before, but this seals the deal.
So, if you need an airbrush, masking film, or stencils of any kind, you need to go to www.medea-artool.com and buy their stuff from your local dealer.
