The Low Down

Several years ago, ModYourMac.com was born out of a desire to showcase Johns tendency to customize his computers. It was also a first round attempt at creating a destination for the modding community and would be modders, in the hopes of encouraging the Mac modding community. It was a lofty dream.

Since then, MYM has gone from a hand crafted html site built in Macromedia (Adobe) Dreamweaver, to a template site built in Rapidweaver. The primary problem with both was that they were somewhat time consuming to build, and the update path was a royal pain. Suffice it to say, John got tired of spending hours updating.

Our latest incarnation moves MYM over to an installation of WordPress, based on mySQL and PHP. This environment is much friendlier to random postings and updatings, along with giving us many customization options. Of course, we still need to work out how the Our Mods Section will play into this, but there’s no deadline. MYM is now, as it always has been, a work in progress. With that said, feel free to drop us a note anytime. We’d love your constructive criticism.
